Another great former student is now graduating from high school–I’m starting to feel . . . old (and I used to swear I’d never say that)!

Samantha always had such a great smile–which is probably why students were so quick to vote for her in the student council elections Now that she’s all grown up, that smile is contagious! Her kind, easy-going personality made it such a pleasure to capture her senior portraits. We spent the morning running around Downtown Winter Garden (this time trying NOT to be noticed) and scoping out new backgrounds (with the exception to the brick wall–that one is a MUST) to photograph.

She is headed off to USF this fall and plans to pursue a career in the medical field and I know that she is destined to do such great things with her very bright future.

It seems like only yesterday that I visited Danielle and her family for Cooper’s 1st birthday. Here we are nearly 7 months later and both Cooper and big sister, Ciara look so grown up! We met up at Cypress Grove Park and spent the morning running around, dancing, and making fart noises. Yes, farts make Cooper laugh (typical guy) and so we (by we, I mean Ciara) must have smooshed the whoopee cushion 200 times to get Cooper to giggle on cue. Now that’s a great big sister!

Meet Victoria. She was such a doll to photograph. This little girl slept through pretty much everything we did and cried only when she was hungry–I couldn’t ask for a more perfect model. Of all the newborns I’ve photographed, Victoria has (by far) the most hair! In fact, it almost looks as if she’s had a little pixie cut She also has two sets of grandparents that have traveled more miles, than any other, to see her cute little face. Mom, Chrystal’s parents came from Ohio and Dad, Alex’s parents came all the way from Greece! This is one loved little girl.

Babies, Babies, Babies! This has been such a fun two weeks for Ihnenfeld Photography! Snuggling with newborns is one of my favorite things to do and lucky for me, so many of my clients have recently given birth . . . which means I’m in HEAVEN!

This little guy is the newest member of the Greenwell family (faithful blog stalkers will remember them from all kinds of family portrait sessions over the past year). I spent last Saturday morning visiting with Carolyn, Chris (who happened to be under the weather), and big brother, William. I also got the chance to meet Chris’s mom, who was the perfect assistant in helping to keep William busy during the shoot! It was such a delight to see everyone and their newest addition. Daniel is the most laid back, relaxed little guy and he was a joy to photograph!

This picture makes me laugh . . . he’s got the ” . . . Seriously woman? Can’t a newborn just get a little sleep?” face: William is growing up so fast and is already such a sweet big brother:Love, love, LOVE this one of Carolyn and Daniel:

If you have been following the blog a while, you know about Crystal and Garrett. I shot their wedding last January (at the same church my husband and I were married in a decade before) and then a little over a month ago, I shot their maternity pictures . Well, the wait is officially over . . . Baby Grace is here and holy cow is she BEAUTIFUL! Not that there was ever any doubt about how amazing she would be–with parents like these two, there was NO way to go wrong, but OH. MY. GOODNESS. She is the sweetest little girl. From her little button nose, to her long curly eyelashes–she was a dream to photograph.

Grace is surrounded by smiles, kindness, and love. She is the newest member of one of the most supportive families I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. There isn’t much more a little girl could ask for!

Without further adieu, it is my pleasure to introduce everyone to Miss Grace:

In my mind, Kaitlyn is still a crazy 7th grader, determined to document the life of middle schoolers via the yearbook. In reality, she is graduating with honors from West Orange High School and I can’t keep track of time anymore. She’s off to UCF in the Fall and can’t wait to start her new journey in life as a college student.

We spent last Saturday goofing off around Downtown Winter Garden to capture her Senior Portraits. It was the morning of Relay for Life (post quasi-hurricane) and I was a little skeptical about just how busy the streets would be. It turned out to be perfect. Beautiful, breezy weather and pretty calm in terms of foot traffic (bad for Relay, perfect for us).

Here are some of my favorites from our morning together . . . Kaitlyn, I love you to pieces, but for the love of all that is great in this world . . . STOP. GROWING. UP. . . You make me feel old!

In this crazy game of life, we aren’t always dealt the hand that we expect. In most cases, we figure out a way to play out the hand and try to learn some type of deeper-meaning-life-lesson along the way. We throw in a few cliches and try to negotiate the reason for why things happened the way they did. We learn what to or what not to do should we ever get back in the game for another hand. In the worst of cases, life deals out hands we wouldn’t wish on our worst enemies. Sometimes there is no rhyme, reason, or rationale to the hand we are dealt, but somehow we stay in the game. We learn to take deeper breaths, spend more time in prayer, and rely on those around us that have the strength we cannot seem to find in ourselves. Somehow we stay in the game. Somehow we find the strength to make it one more day–a day where a miracle awaits us.

If you look up the dictionary’s definition for the word “miracle” you will find, “A surprising and welcome, highly improbable, or extraordinary event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is considered to be divine.” If you ask me, “miracle” goes by another name–his name is Evan. Born at 23 weeks and 5 days (weighing just a little more than your average can of Coke), without divine intervention, there is no other explanation for this little boy. He is one of life’s genuine miracles.

This miracle will make your heart skip beats. He will take your breath away. He will remind you that every single second in the day is important and priceless. He will remind you to be thankful, happy, and in love. He has the power to teach life lessons that most adults will never be able to successfully teach. His smile will rock your world. His giggles have the power to make time stop. And his strength will change your life. He is unbelievable. He is a miracle.

I cannot think of a much better way to spend a morning working than to do it snuggling with a newborn baby! Amanda and Cameron welcomed the newest member of their family almost two years to the day after Jackson was born. Jackson just turned two years old (which I still CANNOT wrap my head around–what happened to the last two years?) and Baby Levi made his way into the world. He, just like his big brother, is super-sweet and snuggly, and he was a doll to photograph. After a few pictures at his house we headed over to his meet and greet party and continued with the shoot. It was a beautiful day outside and we took advantage of the weather by moving his backdrop to the backyard–which just so happened to be the PERFECT spot for his Easter pictures!

Melanie + Allen = Engaged / Winter Garden Wedding Photography

For those of you who know Melanie and Allen, you know this engagement has been in the works for a LONG time! You also know that Melanie is THE MOST PREPARED BRIDE ON THE PLANET. Surely there’s an award out there and all of her friends and family have already nominated her. To illustrate my point, as of the day of our engagement shoot (approximately one year away from the wedding) she has everything purchased, made, fitted, lined up, paid for, organized, and ready to go. EVERYTHING. I honestly do not know how she did it, but she did. In fact, taking her engagement pictures was the last thing left on her “To Do” list and we still have a year to go! Unreal. I’m not going to lie–I could get used to this kind of organization =)

Mel & Allen, thanks for trusting my crazy idea on where to take these pictures–it just goes to show you that you can’t always judge a location by its drive-by looks!
