Welcome to the World, Roane / Winter Garden Newborn Photography

I’m getting old. I’ve officially been teaching long enough that my former students are now old enough to be starting a family of their own. How is this possible?

Jennifer was one of kiddos that was with me for two years–I taught her in 7th grade and then the following year when I moved to 8th grade. She was a brilliant writer, a beautiful girl, and one of the students that I just knew I’d stay in touch with through the years. Lucky for me because I was able to meet and document her sweet little guy Roane! He is already a heart breaker. His big blue eyes and perfect little grin makes your heart swell with happiness. Jennifer is such a good mom–so calm and cool–nothing seems to rattle her. Her energy is exactly what transfers over to Roane–he is one relaxed (and fortunate) little guy :)

In a perfect situation, newborn sessions take place within the first 10 days or so. In this case we weren’t able to make the session happen until he was three weeks old. Jen and I were a little uncertain about how it might all go down. The uncertainty was all for nothing because he was a ROCK STAR!

Trying to narrow down this post to a reasonable number of images was a very difficult task. Try and pick just one favorite–I dare you!

One Big Happy Family / Winter Garden Family Photography

When you combine perfect weather with perfect colors and a bunch of beautiful family members, you end up with one FANTASTIC family photo session. I am so fortunate to have met The Choute Family. They live down the street from us and have kids about the same age as ours. They are kind and generous and surround themselves with people who are exactly the same. It was such a pleasure to photograph this big family. In between searching for alligators and turtles, we were able to get some beautiful images everyone:)

Catching up with The Growing Greenwell Family / Winter Garden Family Photography

It’s been far too long since I’ve spent time with this family. I’ve missed William and Daniel’s happy energy–they’ve grown up so much since the last time we swapped high fives!

I’m also SUPER excited to say that these two handsome boys will be welcoming a sweet little sister into the crew later this year. Carolyn is just as beautiful as ever and Chris is beaming from ear to ear:)

Iman’s Prom 2017 / Orlando Senior Photography

Iman is one of my ALL TIME favorite kiddos EVER. It is so difficult to believe she’s a senior this year because it feels like it was just yesterday she was sitting in my classroom as a wise 8th grader, far beyond her years. She is beautiful, BRILLIANT, talented, insightful, and an all-around kind soul. I have never met another student quite like her, so it was a delight to be able to photograph her prom night!

This prom crew was HILARIOUS. Just like Iman, they were a delight to meet and photograph. Rohit’s mom, Divya opened her beautiful home to everyone and whipped up some seriously delicious Indian cuisine for dinner. Her kindness and patience made quite the impression on my “assistant” for the night. JoJo was smitten with her and the family pup, Chester.

Here are just a handful of my favorites from our time together:)

Iman was STUNNING!

The Pellarin Family / Orlando Family Photography

I’ve worked with Katie for a few years now and have waited (what seems like) an eternity to get my lens on her sweet munchkin, Clara:)  We met up at Leu Gardens a couple of weeks ago and the weather was BEAUTIFUL! We spent the morning exploring the gardens and searching for dinosaurs. I also found out that Clara LOVES animal crackers . . . clearly she’s a girl after my own heart!

It was a near impossible task to narrow down my favorite images from our time together. From the lighting, to the colors, to Clara’s sweet smile–there were just so many to share:)
